    Across two classrooms, 14 opening sashes were adjusted and fitted with new restricted hinges, with restrictors reviewed and locking mechanisms added on a follow-up visit.

    01 — The Brief

    Classroom windows were dropping, sticking and not restricting properly — a safety concern in an SEN setting.

    02 — The Challenge

    Long runs of high-level sashes needed working from steps around furniture, and every opening had to be left restricted.

    03 — Our Response

    We adjusted each sash, replaced 12 restricted hinge sets and 3 standard hinge sets, reviewed restrictors and later fitted two locking mechanisms.

    04 — The Outcome

    All 14 sashes now open, close and restrict as intended across both classrooms.
