Project Type
68-window replacement — REHAU Total 70c PVC-U
NZR was appointed to complete a large-scale window replacement package at Honor Oak Community Centre & Youth Club. The project involved replacing 68 existing windows across the youth and community centre with new REHAU Total 70c PVC-U windows, including fixed lights, opening casements, high-level windows, trickle ventilation and selected Teleflex winding gear.
The works were carried out in an occupied youth and community centre, meaning safety, access and coordination were critical. The building included low-level and high-level windows across multiple elevations, with scaffold access required externally and selected high-level opening windows requiring Teleflex winding gear for practical operation from floor level.
NZR reviewed the issued window schedule, elevations and REHAU performance specification before finalising the installation approach. The team worked through the building systematically, removing existing window units, preparing the openings and installing the new REHAU Total 70c PVC-U windows in line with the specification.
Scaffold access was used for high-level external windows, while internal areas were managed carefully to maintain safe access for staff and users. Selected high-level opening lights were fitted with Teleflex winding gear to allow safe and practical operation from floor level. Trims, glazing, ventilation, sealing and making good were completed as part of the package.
NZR delivered a 68-window replacement programme across the youth and community centre, improving the building's appearance, usability, ventilation and window performance. The project demonstrates NZR's ability to manage larger replacement works in public-facing buildings with specification-led installation, high-level access and occupied-site coordination.
