Dover Innovation Centre — Wall Cut-Out & Floor-to-Ceiling Glazing

NZR delivered a comprehensive glazing transformation at the Dover Innovation Centre, a multi-tenanted commercial office building in Kent. The project involved cutting out sections of the external walls to create larger window apertures, replacing outdated rounded windows with modern floor-to-ceiling aluminium glazing.

The original windows were small, dated and restricted daylight into the workspaces. Enlarging them required structural wall cut-outs, temporary propping and careful coordination around tenants who needed to keep working throughout the programme.

Works were sequenced office by office to keep the building operational. External access was via scissor lift, with structural cut-outs formed, new aluminium frames installed and double glazed sealed units fitted. Internal plastering, trim and making good completed each room before moving on.

The transformed offices now benefit from floor-to-ceiling daylight, slim aluminium sightlines and noticeably better thermal performance — delivered in a three-week programme with minimal tenant disruption.
